Child Care Services
We are happy to provide care for children from 6 weeks to 10 years old. We only allow a maximum of 6 children without parental supervision.
Kidutopia was established as an innovative way to approach a consistently increasing need for new options in part-time and full-time child care. Our goal and mission is to provide your child with a safe, entertaining and educational experience each time they visit Kidutopia. At Kidutopia your children are in safe hands. Our primary motivation is your children’s best interest and comfort.
Kidutopia provides a “clock-in/clock-out” system. We only take appointments with set times. We charge per hour. First child is $10.00 per hour, second child/sibling is $6.00 per hour and third child/sibling $3.00 per hour. Parents are required to pick up the children at the agreed time. Hourly rates are paid at pick up time. Parents can pay with check or credit cards. If a check bounces and/or a credit card fails authorization, the following visits will be cash only. Children will only be released to individuals that have been listed as “authorized to pick up” on the registration form. The authorized pick up person must show a valid photo ID card at pick up time. No tips allowed! We are available up to less than 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. All services require appointments. All services are provided based on availability.
At Kidutopia, we offer a 20 hours weekly rate for $125.00 and a 40 hours weekly rate for $250.00. By appointment only, parents must pay in advance and schedule the hours between Monday through Sunday. Hours can be allocated during the day and/or night. Hours are scheduled based on availability. Hours can not be rolled over to the following week. If you don’t use it, you lose it! No tips allowed! We are available up to less than 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. All services requires appointments. All services are provided based on availability.
Appointments are required. Parents must call to set up an appointment. For the hourly rate, we must have a drop off time and pick up time scheduled. Weekly rates must also be pre-scheduled.
We encourage open and positive communication between our staff and you, the parent. No one knows your child better than you. For this reason please let us know of any special requests you have for your child. Make a special effort to provide all relevant and necessary information regarding your children. Please refrain from discussing availability with the caregivers. Any questions regarding payment and/or availability contact Maude at (504) 296-0745. Maude is the administrator, receptionist and the only person familiar with the appointment book and/or availability.
Only well children with no signs of communicable illness will be admitted. Please refrain from bringing in any child who has shown obvious signs of illness in the last 24 hours. If your child begins to exhibit signs of a communicable illness while visiting with us at Kidutopia you will be contacted and asked to pick them up. This is to protect all the children and staff at Kidutopia.
Parents must provide food and drinks for the child. We are happy to heat up and/or refrigerate any meal you provide. We have a refrigerator and a microwave available. No peanuts, chewy or gummy items allowed. Any item containing peanut products will not be served in the facility. Please bring easy items to prepare and serve. For babies, be sure to bring at least one 8 oz bottle of formula or breast milk for every two hours, juices and/or snacks. Kidutopia is a peanut-free center. Parents must also disclose any food allergies the child may have.
Kidutopia has a positive discipline policy. We all make poor choices at times and we want to help the child make better choices. Our staff will use techniques such as verbal communication, redirection and time-out if needed. At no time will any child made to feel humiliated or singled-out. We want Kidutopia to be a positive experience. If your child is not ready or able to adjust to the atmosphere, we ask parents to consider your child’s needs and respond appropriately. We also reserve the right to refuse admittance if a child is not ready to stay or if a child has had repeated problems that can place other children at risk. We want children to be happy and safe at Kidutopia.
Health and Wellness
To ensure the safety of all the children under our care, Kidutopia is a peanut-free environment. Please refrain from sending any items that may include peanuts or peanut butter. Our staff will make every effort to ensure the safety of all children with peanut allergies.
Diapers and Potty
We want children to be happy, safe, clean, comfortable and healthy. If your child is not 100% potty trained, he/she must wear diaper/pull-ups at all times. We ask that parents provide extra diapers/pull-ups and wipes in the child's bag. An extra change of clothes is also required.
Toys and Blankets
Kidutopia has plenty of toys for children to play. We ask parents not to bring toys from home. If a toy or blanket must come with the child, be sure to clearly label the item. We are not responsible for lost or damaged toys.
Children are not required to nap or lay down. If your child needs to have a nap or lay down, we will provide the space. Be sure to bring a blanket and/or pillow clearly labeled.
